A great Social Media Strategy generator

Loving this site called “WHAT THE FUCK IS MY SOCIAL MEDIA ‘STRATEGY’?” It’s a kindred soul to what we are saying here at Innovative Visionary and I know the fans of what is said here will enjoy it.

    Okay, I get it…it is very funny and creative. However, there should be some strategy behind the time and energy put into social media. And, yes, you have to use words to describe the strategy.

    So what is the exact problem? What makes these “bad” social media strategies? The flowery language? The fact that some organizations put it out there but don’t mean it? Too much fluff?

    In your opinion, what would a “good” social media strategy statement look like? As always, I am curious.

    Hum thought I responded to this last week but wonder if I forgot to hit submit and closed the window, so here it goes again.

    The biggest problem is usually the person who is uttering these words. Most the time they really have little clue about what it is they are actually saying and this causes it to sound like something means more then it does.

    As well it’s usually just common sense reworded to sound like it’s a grand idea. Like with my example one above, would it ever be a policy to not do that? As well, many of them say things like this but then do the complete opposite. And when you point it out to them they play it off because they have a “policy” that says they are doing awesome.

    For me a “good” social media strategy statement never has to be said, and can be read from your actions. While someone else might not get it exactly or misconstrue where it is coming from, overall people will get what you mean and where it is coming from. If not they will ask and you can help steer them in the right direction. Actions will always speak louder then words, even colorful, flowery buzzwords.
